The Future of Health, It's At Your Fingertips

FAQ's

What is the Patient Whiz?

The Patient Whiz is a revolutionary health-empowerment tool that helps patients optimize their medical care while they slash their medical bills by minimizing redundant testing, medical errors, and complications of treatment.

It is chockfull of 20 fill-in charts and logs in Microsoft Word format. Keep track of everything from your surgeries, to your medication allergies, to the outcome of doctors’ appointments. Save the files and update them as often as necessary. There are even back-up charts to make sure you never run out of space.

The Patient Whiz also has potentially life-saving, patient-empowerment modules, which teach you how to expedite your own diagnoses and prepare for doctors visits in advance to get the most out of every visit. Even learn how to decrease the chance of hospital-related complications should you require hospitalization.

How will my medical care be safer if I have the Patient Whiz?

The Patient Whiz can improve safety in many ways. For example, recent medical studies have shown that for each 1,000 CAT scans done, one person may subsequently develop cancer!  While that is very alarming, there are times that a CAT scan simply must be done to diagnose a potentially serious condition (or rule it out).  If you have all prior CAT scan reports in your wallet, you are less likely to be subjected unnecessarily to potentially harmful radiation. By knowing how to communicate your symptoms to your doctor more effectively, he is more likely to be able to diagnose your problems without the need for excessive testing.

What is the memory of the flash drive?

2GB – A tremendous amount of room to store many years of medical documents.

Who created the Patient Whiz?

The Patient Whiz was created by an experienced, board-certified physician and author, who became frustrated with seeing the infinite missed opportunities for maximizing patient care and the tremendous amount of money wasted, simply because patients have not been truly empowered to partner in their own healthcare.

What are the system requirements to be able to view the Multi-Media Patient Survival Skills modules on my computer?

The Patient Whiz works on Windows 95 and later versions of Windows.  If you have an older operating system, you will still have access to all of this invaluable information in Adobe PDF files. If you don’t have an Adobe Reader on your computer, you can download a free PDF reader from multiple sites on the Internet.

How will I save money with the Patient Whiz?

Doctors will be able to get to the root cause of your illness quicker, if you able to communicate your symptoms to them in a manner that will help expedite your diagnosis, without unnecessary tests that are expensive and potentially dangerous. In addition, there will also be less risk of potentially dangerous medication interactions.

What do doctors have to say?

Doctors of multiple specialties agree that having immediate access to patients’ old records can dramatically improve the care they are able to provide, without repeating numerous tests that have already been done. Improving patient safety is another result of having prior records. To see what doctors are saying, please click here.

What about test results?

There is a folder in the Patient Whiz dedicated to scanned documents. You can scan in EKGs, blood test results, hospital records/discharge summaries, and any other medical document you choose. You need a scanner (which can be purchased very inexpensively) or you can simply contact a local copy center, such as Kinko’s, to see if they have a self-service scanner in their store.

Can I keep X-rays on my Patient Whiz?

Yes!  When you have an X-ray done, request a digital copy of your films on CD Rom. Simply copy to your computer’s desktop and then copy and paste a copy into the Patient Whiz so future doctors can see the actual films.

What kind of security is built into the Patient Whiz?

Your Patient Whiz is password protected by software from Encryptx, a leader in the encryption business. Numerous government agencies use Encryptx to secure their confidential information.

You choose your own password and user name. If you forget it, don’t worry. There are questions you can set up with personal answers that will identify you as the user and allow you to retrieve your logon information.

Is it possible that my medical information can be compromised?

As with any computer or software program, there is always the potential that some malicious computer hacker will find a way through the security features. Even banks and government agencies have had to deal with this issue. However, if someone steals your wallet he will have your home address, credit cards, and other much more valuable information than a secured USB with personal health records on it. Even if he is brilliant enough to obtain access to your secure health records, how would it benefit him to know your medical history?  On the other hand, if you find yourself in an ER at 3am, being able to hand the ER doctor you Patient Whiz with copies of prior EKGs and medical reports can literally help him save your life. You alone can decide if the extremely remote chance a stranger obtains access to your medical records is worth potentially forgoing the opportunity to help save your own life!  Neither Savvier Health, LLC nor Encryptx accept any responsibility for the malicious acts of computer/software hackers.

How long will it take to receive my Patient Whiz?

You should allow 3 – 5 weeks for delivery.
